The Lamborghini Countach LP5000 Quattrovalvole arrived in 1985 as a major evolution of the Countach. Its 5.2-liter V12 used four valves per cylinder, giving the model its Quattrovalvole name, commonly shortened to QV. The updated engine produced approximately 455 horsepower in European specification.

The QV retained the Countach's familiar wedge-shaped body while adding prominent engine-cover vents needed to accommodate its revised intake system. Wide rear tires, flared bodywork, side-mounted air intakes, and the optional rear wing helped define the later Countach appearance that became especially recognizable during the 1980s.
